What is ISO 13485?

ISO 13485 is a quality system  standard.  Built on the ISO 9001 framework the standard was written specifically for medical devices.  This is not to confuse it with “product standards” that deal with SPECIFIC devices; ISO 13485 is specific to the overall quality system.
